You keep your books in one tab and your AI assistant in another. MCP closes that gap: it is an open protocol that lets tools like Claude and ChatGPT connect to outside systems and use them while you chat.

What you can ask

Once Logario is connected, questions like “who owes us money?”, “what did we spend on software this quarter?” or “how is revenue trending against last year?” are answered from your actual books — the assistant reads your data through the same permission checks as your own login.

How the connection works

Connect from the AI tool by URL: it discovers Logario’s MCP endpoint, walks you through an approval screen where you sign in and pick one company, and receives its own credentials — your password is never shared. Prefer keys? You can mint a personal access token in Settings → API Access instead.

The safety model

Machine access is read-only: an AI tool connected over MCP can look things up but can never create, edit or post anything to your books. It sees only the company you granted, only what your role allows, every call is logged, and you can revoke the connection at any time.

Inside the app too

The same grounded answers power Logario’s built-in “Ask your books” assistant — which can additionally propose an expense or a payment as a draft card that only you can confirm.

Common questions

Can the AI change my books over MCP?

No. MCP access is read-only by design — write actions exist only inside the app, behind an explicit confirmation from you.

Which AI tools work with it?

Anything that speaks MCP — including Claude (web and desktop) and ChatGPT connectors — can connect to Logario by URL.

What data does the AI tool see?

Only the single company you approved, filtered by your role’s permissions, one query at a time. Every call is metered and auditable, and you can revoke access whenever you like.
